blogging again

for last semesters good report cards i gave both Nate and Lana a journal. nate’s excitement was uncontainable. he followed us around the house journalling the days events. his hand writing improved dramatically and his imagination expanded. lana was just excited, except she filled her journal will drawings of pictures and doodles. she found a place to collect her stickers and has enjoyed having her own book to refer to when brother has his nose in his journal. its so cute to see them two at it.

I knew I’d be gone from this blog for a while but i had no idea that i’d be gone this long. i have a lot to update and after watching Nate’s excitement for journalling i seem to feel the urge to actually blog. i’ve given this family blog a new thought and really want to keep it up. if not for my friends and family, for my little family... and if not for them then for me. i want to be able to share photos and stories as they occur so that I can use some of the over 10,000 images that Andre and I have taken of our family. my favorite subjects! facebook seemed to be the place to do this, until now. I’m bringing it here finally. my hope is that this will enable me to keep up with life’s fickle moments and share them for memories sake. i have so many “remember when’s”... but then its hard to do that when i didn’t jot it down somewhere. so the journaling... or shall i say blogging journey begins with this post.

most of my posts will probably occur at this early morning hour that Dez has me up. it’s hard for me to go back to sleep after this feeding, so instead of solely reading other peoples blog i will contribute to our life’s story. i hope you’ll enjoy the stories.

my first one will be Dez’s birth story since I promised so many people months ago. tomorrow though as i’m in need of my sleep now. good night!

Come on over.

It's obvious that I can't keep up with my personal blog, so if you'd like to keep up with our lives through the glimpse of my photography business. Feel free to stalk my FickleZeal Photography blog. There I do my best to post at least once a week. And as often as possible about Nate and Lana.

Hope to see you there!

my, my I've done it again

Yes, here I am again posting a long overdue post thinking, this time I'll keep up. Hoping that even as I sit here sipping Airborne typing on this very QUITE Friday night, as the rest of the family sleeps. Hoping that even though both guys are sick with the flu that miraculously Lana and I will not get infected so that I can hold myself to keeping up. Hoping that my alter ego will take over and tackle all the things on my list of things to do so that I can focus on all that I want to do instead of all that I MUST do. IE, ahem... taxes, organize, input into Quick Books, scrub showers, fold laundry, blah, blah blah.

Oh internet, take my family to a beautiful island or send me a friend that is willing to trade. Photography for professional organizing / accounting. Is that so much to ask for? A gal can dream!

As for the family update. Nate is now reading and writing really well, counts to 100, loves all Super Hero's, is obsessed with his Nintendo DS that his Uncle Mark bought him, LOVES his sister, and wants to be JUST like his DAD! Lana is now getting herself dressed, brushing her own teeth, opening doors, loves to draw, and wants to be JUST like Andre, Nate, and me. Very cute. She has the cutest personality. She's sassy and independent. Sound familiar? LOL.

Andre and I are doing well, too. Life is good!

Too FUNNY!

All I want for Christmas... Help bring Reese Home!

Many of you have asked what I'd like for Christmas and well... as many of you know, I am very passionate about adoption... especially adoption of children with special needs. I'm so proud of my very dear friend McKenna (click HERE to check out her blog) and her husband, DJ who are adopting little Reese from Eastern Europe. Reese has Down syndrome, a cleft lip and a cleft palate. I think McKenna and DJ are amazing for adopting this little angel ... don't you agree? It is imperative that they get Reese home as soon as possible to get her clefts repaired. We suspect that the officials in Eastern Europe will NOT repair her clefts, as she is probably not seen as worthy of this surgery since she has Down syndrome. DOWN RIGHT SAD, huh?

A great Christmas gift for me would be if you'd help me help them, and it's free shipping! ;-) Please donated $10 or more to their adoption fund. Let's see if together, we can get to $1,000 by Christmas! And hopefully $3,000 of $25,000+ needed to get McKenna and her husband that much closer to bringing Reese home!" It is amazing how just $10 can add up and when you are adopting, every single penny counts!

So, what do you think? I know the economy pretty much sucks right now and I totally understand if you do not have even $10 to spare. But if you do, would you consider donating it to help get Reese home to her forever family? Click here to chip in!
